Why Osteopathy Works

Maybe you have chronic back pain or need help recovering from an injury. Or maybe you want to keep your joints and muscles in good condition to prevent future injuries.

Osteopathy is based on the idea that the health of the whole body, including organs and tissues, depends on the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system (muscles and joints).

Osteopathy works because it is a natural way to help your body heal the cause of the problem without the need for drugs, injections or surgery.

If you have pain or discomfort in your back, muscles or joints, you will be in good hands.

How our osteopath can help you

The most common conditions include: back pain, headaches, digestive problems, respiratory problems, osteoarthritis, as well as to maintain general health and well-being.

Our osteopath, Denise, uses a series of skilled manual techniques to manipulate joints, muscles and other body tissues to facilitate healing, relieve pain and improve overall function.

She graduated in Physiotherapy in Berlin in 2010, then moved to live in Spain where she worked as a physiotherapist for 2 years until she decided to start her career in Osteopathy. Denise, has been practicing in Alicante for the last 10 years.

After finding the cause of her problem, she:

It will help relieve pain as soon as possible It will help you get your body in good condition It will help you stay well

What makes our physiotherapist different?

Our physical therapist is a spine specialist. Her goal is to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function and prevent future injury.

His approach is different because he only works with his hands, no machines, no heat, no drugs, no injections. This natural approach helps the body to heal as quickly as possible. In addition to manual techniques, you can use dry needling to eliminate persistent muscle tension or kinesio tape to help joints heal.

Likewise, Denise is an expert in movement and postural correction, having been a Pilates teacher in the past, and will use all this experience to help you get back into good shape so you can get back to sports, picking up the kids pain-free, or whatever it is you love to do.

Why go to an osteopath in Alicante?

Osteopathy is a very effective alternative therapy to eliminate mobility restrictions in the human body, eliminating possible pain and discomfort, as well as preventing future injuries.

Increasingly in demand, an osteopath in Alicante is especially indicated to treat the following disorders:

Disorders of the locomotor system. Respiratory system disorders. Digestive disorders. Genito-urinary disorders. Pediatric disorders.

Osteopathy of the locomotor system will treat problems such as low back pain, whiplash, sciatica, fasciitis, epicondolitis, herniated discs, impingement, sprains and any other disorder of the locomotor system.

Visceral osteopathy will improve visceral mobility, improving vascularization and innervation, decreasing the most common symptoms and relieving pain. While creaneal osteopathy treats and relieves dizziness, vertigo, migraines and other TMJ problems.

In QO Clinic we will always make a personalized study of each patient, and then apply the most effective osteopathy treatment in Alicante according to their needs.

Typical complaints we deal with

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can have different causes. Among them: Injury, Tendonitis, Bursitis, Osteoarthritis, postural problems, pinched nerves in the neck and spinal problems. The shoulders are complicated joints, so when something goes wrong a comprehensive approach is required to solve the problem. A combination of improving shoulder mobility, unblocking the spine (especially the neck) and postural re-education works well to aid in a full recovery.

Hip Pain

Hip pain can be caused by a variety of factors, such as osteoarthritis, injury, bursitis, tendonitis, spinal problems and pinched nerves in the lumbar spine. If you suffer "hip" pain in the front or back of the pelvis, it is more likely to be a lumbar or pelvic problem. If the pain is in the groin and goes down to the inside of the knee, it is more likely to be a "true" hip problem. That said, the best thing to do is to get checked out, determine the cause and fix it.

Low back pain

Also known as lumbago or low back pain, low back pain will affect most people at some point in their lives. Sitting puts continuous pressure on the lower back that becomes blocked, spinal nerves are pinched and muscles spasm painfully. People can also have low back pain after a bad gesture, but in reality it is usually the bad gesture that causes the pain after the problem has been slowly developing over a long period of time.

Whiplash

Whiplash is a neck injury that occurs when the head moves abruptly back and forth, such as in a car or sports accident. This can cause injury to the muscles, ligaments, nerves or vertebrae in the neck. Symptoms of whiplash may include neck and shoulder pain, neck stiffness, headaches, dizziness, concentration problems, memory problems and fatigue. In some cases, these symptoms may not appear immediately after the incident and may take hours, days, months or years to manifest. It is important to find professional help as appropriate treatment may be required to avoid long-term complications.

Posture

Postural problems can be caused by sedentary lifestyles, poor posture, excess weight and previous injuries. Symptoms can include chronic muscle pain, stiffness, headaches and breathing problems, as well as an unattractive appearance. It is important to seek professional help to prevent them from worsening over time.

Digestive Problems

Causes of digestive problems can include dysfunction of muscles, organs, poor posture, spinal dysfunction, tension in the diaphragm and vagus nerve dysfunction. By improving the mobility of the spine, you can improve the information sent to the digestive organs through the nervous system so they can do their job.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by widespread muscle pain and tenderness in specific areas of the body. Symptoms include fatigue, sleep disorders, headaches and cognitive problems. Diagnosis is based on symptoms and exclusion of other possible causes of muscle pain and fatigue. In our experience, if the spine and nervous system are functioning properly, you are more likely to have good health and a smile on your face.

Cervical Dizziness

One of the most common causes of dizziness is a neck problem. Poor neck posture, previous car accidents, whiplash, stress and too much time in front of the computer and cell phone are some of the causes. The neck becomes stiff, pinching the nerves at the base of the neck, which can lead to neck pain and dizziness. Regaining neck mobility and improving posture should help.
